Each engine gets its own performance chip: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per performance chip and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.

Audi A3 8P tune: what changes
The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.
- Bluetoothswitch modes from your phone
- 18 mapsto fine-tune your engine

- 15 minutesplug-and-play install
- IP67water and dust protection
- +54 hpbest in this generation
2.0 TFSI 200 hp → 254 hp. The other engines gain +12 hp and up; check the table for each one.
- +89 Nmfor diesels
Diesels gain mostly torque: +30 to +89 Nm for towing and hauling.
- up to +12%with the GAN GA+ on naturally aspirated engines
For 3 naturally aspirated engines: the GAN GA / GAN GA+ tuners; check the table for each engine’s numbers.

What makes the Audi A3 8P special
Audi A3 8P tune: start with your model year and engine
The U.S. didn't get the early 8P: it arrived here a few model years after Europe and sold through the end of the run. Most U.S. cars carry the 2.0T at 200 hp, so for an A3 2.0T tune, find the 2.0 TFSI row at 200 hp in the table below. The catalog is European, so it also covers 8P diesels the U.S. never got: until April 2008 the 2.0 TDI had pump injectors (BKD and BMM at 140 hp, BMN at 170 hp), and after that Common Rail (CBAB at 140 hp, CBBB at 170 hp). The 1.9 TDI with 105 hp and pump injectors ended in October 2009, and Common Rail 1.6 TDI engines with 90 hp and 105 hp took over.
Stock and tuned hp for every 8P engine
The Common Rail 2.0 TDI at 140 hp reaches 160 hp with the GAN GT, and the 170 hp version reaches 204 hp. The A3 TDI sold in the U.S. for 2010 through 2013 is rated at 140 hp, so use the 2.0 TDI row at that figure. The pump-injector 2.0 TDI PD at 140 hp and the 1.9 TDI at 105 hp take the GAN GA+ and reach 157 hp and 118 hp. A GAN performance chip lifts the 1.6 TDI from 105 hp to 136 hp. The 2.0 TFSI goes from 200 hp to 254 hp.
On the European side, the 1.8 TFSI goes from 160 hp to 206 hp and the 1.4 TFSI from 125 hp to 149 hp. The naturally aspirated 1.6, 2.0 FSI and 3.2 VR6 take the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power. The 3.2 quattro sold in the U.S. for 2006 through 2009 is a 250 hp naturally aspirated engine, so it falls in that GA+ group. Treat these as rated gains for each engine type, not as dyno readings from your car.
Audi A3 8P tuning FAQ
A3 TDI: which 2.0 TDI row fits my car?
The BKD (2003 to 2006) and the BMM are European pump-injector engines and use the 140 hp 2.0 TDI PD row, while the CBAB from April 2008 uses the 140 hp Common Rail 2.0 TDI row. A U.S. A3 TDI from 2010 through 2013 was built after the April 2008 switch, so look at the 140 hp Common Rail row.
What should I check on my A3 before adding power?
Chain-driven 1.8 TFSI engines (EA888) can burn a lot of oil, though in the A3 8P that happens only in isolated cases. Early cars with the 102 hp 1.6 gas engine can fail the thermostat and the water pump. On a 2006 through 2008 A3 2.0T, have the cam follower that drives the high-pressure fuel pump inspected, since heavy wear can damage the camshaft.
Audi A3 performance chip: how is GAN different from a flash tune?
A flash tune rewrites the ECU, while the GAN plug-and-play performance chip leaves it alone: it works on the sensor signals and plugs into the existing connectors. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
