Performance Chip Tuning Skoda
Up to 30% more power for your Skoda
The Skoda catalog lists 191 engines (models: 9, generations: 18). For 59% of the engines, there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning modules; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Skoda performance chip: more power, no ECU flash
The GAN module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Unlike a flash tuner, it doesn’t rewrite your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

Skoda tuning FAQ
What does the GAN GT do for an Octavia RS?
Stock, the Octavia III RS 2.0 TSI delivers 220 hp and 350 Nm. With the GAN GT it delivers 264 hp and 435 Nm. The 245 hp version and the 184 hp 2.0 TDI RS have their own entries, and so do the Octavia II RS versions. Those are stated gains for the engine type, not what a dyno would show on your own car.
Does my Octavia 2.0 TDI have pump injectors or common rail?
The Octavia II came with both types on the 2.0 TDI, but the 1.9 TDI had only pump injectors. Build date matters on the 140 hp 2.0 TDI: it moved from pump injectors to common rail in May 2010, so check the engine code too.
What does a GAN GA+ plug-and-play performance chip do for a Škoda 1.6 FSI or 2.0 FSI?
The Octavia II's FSI engines have direct injection and no turbo, so they take the GAN GA+, rated up to 12% more power.
Plug-in performance chip or flash tune for a Škoda TSI or TDI?
A flash tune rewrites the factory software. The GAN tuning module doesn't: it works between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. Checksums, flash counter and factory software stay untouched, and the engine keeps its factory protections. Your factory warranty is preserved. The ECU software never changes, and you can remove the module at any time.
Does the GAN module affect my Skoda factory warranty?
No. The module doesn’t change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved. On top of that, GAN gives its own engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Plug-in performance chip or flash tuner: which should I choose?
A flash tuner rewrites the maps in your ECU, and the flash counter records it. The GAN module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.
Skoda engines: what to know before you tune
Škoda tune: the RS always has a turbo
Škoda stopped selling cars in the U.S. in the 1960s, so the Škodas here are European-market cars, and your engine code matters more than the badge. Škodas keep their European model names, such as Octavia, Fabia, Superb and Kodiaq. The RS, the most powerful version, is the easiest way in. It comes with a TSI gasoline engine or a TDI diesel.
Every generation of the RS is turbocharged. Octavia I RS: 1.8T, 180 hp. Octavia II RS: 2.0 TFSI at 200 hp or 2.0 TDI at 170 hp. The Octavia III RS offers the 2.0 TSI at 220, 230 or 245 hp, or the 2.0 TDI at 184 hp; the Octavia IV has the 2.0 TSI at 245 hp. Both the Octavia II RS and the Octavia III RS take the GAN GT.
Škoda engine basics: a Škoda is a Volkswagen underneath
Volkswagen Group bought into Škoda after 1990 and owns it today, which is why Škoda engines follow Volkswagen's. Three Volkswagen families went into the Octavia III. EA211 covers the 1.2 and 1.4 TSI, later the 1.0 and 1.5 TSI. EA888 covers the 1.8 and 2.0 TSI, including the RS. EA288 covers the 1.6 and 2.0 TDI. The same engines power the SEAT Leon III, the Audi A3 8V and the Golf VII.
Many codes, such as CJZA, CHPA, CJSA, CKFC and CUPA, are shared by the Octavia III and the Leon III. Most turbo engines take the GAN GT, rated up to 30% more power, while naturally aspirated FSI engines take the GAN GA+, rated up to 12%. Your exact engine in the catalog tells you which one.

Names and codes
Every TSI in the Octavia II through IV is a turbo gasoline engine with direct injection. FSI means direct injection without a turbo, as on the Octavia II's 1.6 FSI and 2.0 FSI. TFSI is the turbo version, and the 2.0 TFSI RS was later renamed the 2.0 TSI. A TDI is always a turbodiesel; PD in the name means pump injectors, CR means common rail.
Read the number before the letters as liters of displacement: 1.4 TSI equals 1,395 cm³, and 2.0 TDI equals 1,968 cm³. Green tec and GreenLine mark the economical versions, like the Octavia III 1.6 TDI with 110 hp, and Scout is the off-road one. Finding your engine takes three checks: the name, the engine code and the power figure in your vehicle documents.
Models in the catalog
The Octavia in four generations and the Superb anchor the range, along with the Fabia, Rapid, Yeti, Roomster, Praktik, Karoq and Kodiaq. The Superb III is well covered: TSI engines of 1.4, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 liters (125 to 280 hp) and TDI engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters (120 to 200 hp).
Which Skoda models are in the catalog
The catalog lists 9 models from Skoda. The most engines are listed for the Octavia (59), Fabia (40) and Superb (33). The biggest gain among the models is on the Octavia: up to +80 hp.
Naturally aspirated Skoda engines
For 47 naturally aspirated engines from Skoda, there’s the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% better fuel economy in ECO mode. It’s plug-and-play: you can install it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Skoda engine
