Performance Chip Tuning Chevrolet
Up to 30% more power for your Chevrolet
The Chevrolet catalog lists 255 engines (models: 49, generations: 61). For 15% of the engines, there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning modules; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Chevrolet performance chip: more power, no ECU flash
The GAN module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Unlike a flash tuner, it doesn’t rewrite your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

Chevrolet tuning FAQ
Chevy Cruze tune: what does it add to the 1.4 Turbo or the 2.0 diesel?
The Cruze 1.4 Turbo (140 hp, 200 Nm) is the Opel A14NET, and the GAN GT takes it to 181 hp and 258 Nm. The 2.0 is a turbodiesel too (125, 150 or 163 hp), so it also takes the GAN GT. The 150 hp version rises from 320 Nm to 193 hp and 409 Nm. These are catalog gains by engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a GAN module for the Chevrolet Captiva diesel?
Captiva diesels: the 2.0 VCDi makes 150 hp and 320 Nm, and the 2.2 VCDi makes 163 hp and 350 Nm or 184 hp and 400 Nm. Yes. Both are turbodiesels, so the GAN GT is the module: the 2.0 VCDi reaches 193 hp and 409 Nm, and the 2.2 VCDi reaches 210 hp and 445 Nm (163 hp version) or 236 hp and 505 Nm (184 hp version).
What can a module do for a naturally aspirated Chevrolet Aveo or Lacetti?
Aveo, Lacetti and Spark gasoline engines have no turbo, so they take the GAN GA+. The rated gain is up to 12% more power, not a fixed figure.
Plug-in performance chip or flash tune on a Chevrolet: what stays untouched?
A flash tune rewrites the control unit's software. The GAN module stays between the sensors and the ECU. The factory software stays as it was, and pulling the module leaves no traces.
Does the GAN module affect my Chevrolet factory warranty?
No. The module doesn’t change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved. On top of that, GAN gives its own engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Plug-in performance chip or flash tuner: which should I choose?
A flash tuner rewrites the maps in your ECU, and the flash counter records it. The GAN module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.
Chevrolet engines: what to know before you tune
Chevy tuner: what's under the hood, in the U.S. and in Europe
In the U.S., Chevrolet means the Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado and Corvette, and most people just say Chevy. The 5.3 EcoTec3 V8 in the Tahoe and Suburban is rated at 355 hp and has no turbo, so find your engine by its hp figure in the table and match it with the GAN GA+. The current Tahoe and Suburban also offer a 3.0 Duramax turbo-diesel rated at 305 hp, and that engine has no row in the catalog yet. The U.S. Trax runs a 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder rated at 137 hp. European Chevrolet is a short chapter. From 2005, every GM Daewoo model sold in Europe wore the Chevrolet badge, and that history tells you whose engines sit under the hood.
Before 2005, Chevrolet Europe sold only a few American models, and after 2010 GM added the Corvette, Camaro and Malibu through a Swiss division. Sales in Western and Central Europe ran around 200 thousand cars a year, peaking in 2007. GM pulled the brand out of Europe at the end of 2015, with Germany stopping in mid-2014. After 2015 only the Camaro and the Corvette stayed on, until August 2019. The Cruze and Aveo T300 are not American cars: they share their engines with Opel. Chevrolet's 1.6 and 1.8 Ecotec (F16D4 and F18D4) are Opel's A16XER and A18XER, and its 1.4 Turbo (LUJ) comes from the Astra J and Mokka as the A14NET. The Captiva is kin to the Opel Antara, and the Trax to the Opel Mokka.
European Chevrolet engines, model by model
Cruze I in Europe, May 2009 to December 2014. Gasoline: 1.6 at 113 and later 124 hp, 1.8 at 141 hp, and a 1.4 Turbo at 140 hp from July 2012. Diesel: 1.7 at 110 and 130 hp, 2.0 at 125, 150 and 163 hp. The first-generation Captiva arrived in Europe in October 2006 with 2.4-liter and V6 gasoline engines, plus the 2.0 VCDi at 150 hp and the 2.2 VCDi at 163 and 184 hp. Aveo T300: 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 gasoline engines, plus a 1.3 diesel at 75 and 95 hp from January 2012.
Common-rail turbodiesels carry the VCDi name. The first 2.0 came out of a collaboration with VM Motori, and the later 2.0 and 2.2 are GM Family Z engines. Daewoo's E-TEC II (1.4 to 1.6, Lacetti and Aveo) and S-TEC (1.2, Aveo) engines are all naturally aspirated. In Europe the Spark M400 wasn't a Chevrolet. It was sold as the Opel Karl.

GM uses Ecotec for gasoline engines in general: the small Family 0 and Family 1 units of the Cruze and Aveo, and a separate 2.0 to 2.5 liter family with the Captiva's 2.4. Lacetti engines in Germany, from April 2004: 1.4 (95 hp), 1.6 (109 hp), 1.8 (121 hp) and a 2.0 common-rail diesel (121 hp).
