What makes the Audi RS5 special
Audi RS5 tune: what a naturally aspirated V8 can add
The 4.2 FSI V8 has no turbo. With the GAN GA+, an Audi RS5 performance chip, it goes from 450 hp and 430 Nm to 486 hp and 464 Nm, within the module's rating of up to 12% more power. U.S. RS 5s of the 2013–2015 model years carry this V8 at 450 hp, the same figure as the catalog row. This V8 is high-revving, with its 450 hp arriving at 8,250 rpm, so don't expect turbo-style gains. Those are rated gains for this engine type, not a dyno result from your car.
The RS5 8T engine is a development of the RS4 B7 engine. The 2.9 TFSI of the RS5 F5 isn't in the catalog. U.S. RS 5s of the 2018–2025 model years use a 2.9 TFSI twin-turbo V6 instead.

Audi RS5: flash tune or plug-in performance chip?
Unlike a flash tune, the GAN module leaves the factory software, checksums and flash counter as they are, and it comes off in about a minute. The ECU software is never changed and you can remove the module at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved.
Does the GAN module change the S tronic transmission on an Audi RS5 8T?
No. The module doesn't reprogram the transmission. Every RS5 8T has the seven-speed S tronic and quattro with a crown-gear center differential.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
