Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:
Daihatsu Sirion tune: what changes
More power and torque with no ECU flash and no new parts – the module only adjusts the engine sensor signals. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Daihatsu Sirion special
Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 tune: before or after the facelift
Daihatsu never sold the Sirion in the U.S., so its engines here are European-market units. It has no U.S. badge, trim or model-year range, so you pick the row by engine and output. With a small naturally aspirated engine like the 1.3, the question is what a performance chip can add. The 1.3 K3-VE is rated at 87 hp and 120 Nm before the 2007 facelift; afterward the catalog shows 90 hp. Manual-only, the 1.0 1KR-FE is a three-cylinder rated at 70 hp and 93 Nm in the catalog.
Drive and transmission vary on the 1.3: front-wheel or four-wheel drive, manual or automatic. For the 1.5 3SZ-VE, expect 103 hp and either 132 Nm (manual) or 138 Nm (automatic). In Europe the 1.5 came with front-wheel drive, so check the version in your vehicle documents. S and Sports are trim names, not separate engines. All of these engines are naturally aspirated, which is why they take the GAN GA+.
Which generation is your Sirion
Launched in 1998, the first generation (M100 and M101) was the export version of the Japanese Storia. The 1.3 K3-VE at 87 hp arrived in 2000, and the second generation uses the same engine code. In 2005 the second generation (M300) came to Europe as the export version of the Boon. Esztergom, Hungary, built it for several European markets from September 2007 to September 2011.
Second-generation mainstream engines are the 1.0 and the 1.3, with the 1.5 3SZ-VE above them. The Boon facelift came in December 2006 and reached Europe in 2007. The first generation was offered with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. You will often see the second generation called the Sirion 2.
Daihatsu Sirion tuning FAQ
What does a Sirion 1.3 tune add?
A GAN GA+ takes the 87 hp 1.3 to 97 hp and 134 Nm. The module is rated at up to 12% more power, and that is a rated gain for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Does the 1.0 three-cylinder take a GAN GA+ performance chip?
Yes, the 1.0 takes the GAN GA+ as well, starting from 70 hp and 93 Nm.
Are the 1.5 figures the same for the manual and the automatic?
The catalog lists the 1.5 at 138 Nm, which is the automatic’s torque, while the manual makes 132 Nm. The same 1.5 figures apply to either transmission.
Sirion performance chip or flash tuner: what is the difference?
The GAN module leaves the factory software in the engine control unit alone, while a flash tuner replaces it. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
