What makes the Fiat Stilo special
Fiat Stilo tune: gas first, diesel close behind
German registrations from 2002 to 2009 show about 71% gas Stilos and about 28% diesel. Fiat never sold the Stilo new in the U.S., so a Stilo here is a European-market car, described by its body style and European engine badge. So a Stilo falls into two groups for a performance chip: the 1.9 diesels and the gas engines. For the 1.9 JTD, the catalog lists 80, 90, 101, 116, 120, 126, 140 and 150 hp, and each takes the GAN GT.
The 1.6 16V at 103 hp takes the GAN GA+. The five-cylinder 2.4 20V does too; it came only in a few sporty trims, such as the Abarth. The gas 1.2, the 1.4 at 90 hp and the 1.8 have no rows in the catalog. Sales started in fall 2001, and the hatchbacks stopped production in November 2006.

The catalog lists this engine at 116 hp; with the GAN GT it reaches 151 hp, a gain of 35 hp. The 1.9 JTD is a turbo diesel, and GAN rates the GAN GT at up to 30% more power on engines like it. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno result for your car.
What does the GAN GA+ give a Stilo 1.6 16V at 103 hp?
GAN rates the GAN GA+ at up to 12% more power, and the catalog shows a gain of 12 hp.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
