What makes the Ford EcoSport special
Ford EcoSport tuner: gas EcoBoost or diesel TDCi
In the catalog the 1.0 EcoBoost with 125 hp is the main EcoSport engine, and the 1.5 TDCi diesel with 95 hp is a small minority. Gas wins on power, 125 hp against 95 hp; the diesel wins on torque, 215 Nm against 170 Nm. Which Ford EcoSport tune applies depends on which of those two engines is under your hood. The second-generation EcoSport, built on the Fiesta platform, launched in June 2014 and ran until 2022.
Ford sold the EcoSport in the U.S. for the 2018 through 2022 model years, then discontinued it. It debuted at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2013, and from 2017 it was built for European buyers in Craiova, Romania. For scale: 102,610 EcoSports had been registered in Germany by the end of 2023, with 2019 the peak year.
Engines in the EcoSport catalog
The 1.5 TDCi is a 90 hp engine up to May 2015 and a 95 hp engine after that. There is no row yet for the later 100 hp 1.5 TDCi or for the 1.5 EcoBlue diesels. The 1.0 EcoBoost with 140 hp has no row either. The 100 hp 1.0 EcoBoost has no separate EcoSport row; it appears under the 1.0 EcoBoost of the Ford Fiesta Mk8. In the U.S. the EcoSport came with a 1.0 EcoBoost three-cylinder turbo on front-wheel drive or a naturally aspirated 2.0 Ti-VCT on all-wheel drive.
The naturally aspirated 1.5 Ti-VCT with 112 hp was sold until 2017. Early cars had a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, and the Ti-VCT could be ordered with a six-speed automatic. When the 2017 facelift came, Ford dropped that engine and kept the three-cylinder EcoBoost. The first generation, built in Brazil from 2003 to 2012, never officially reached Europe, so every European EcoSport is second generation.

Add the GAN GT and the EcoBoost 125 goes to 162 hp and 230 Nm, while the 1.5 TDCi 95 goes to 124 hp and 290 Nm. Up to 30% more power is the rating of the GAN GT on turbo engines. Those are catalog figures for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a Ford EcoSport 1.0 EcoBoost performance chip?
Yes, the 125 hp EcoBoost takes the GAN GT, the performance chip made for turbocharged engines. The GAN GTL also fits this engine. The U.S. 1.0 EcoBoost is the front-wheel-drive version, so check its hp rating against the 125 hp row before you order.
Which GAN performance chip fits a European EcoSport 1.5 TDCi at 90 or 95 hp?
Both take the GAN GT, and the build date tells them apart: 90 hp until May 2015, 95 hp after that.
Is there a performance chip for a naturally aspirated EcoSport, such as the 1.5 Ti-VCT?
Yes, the 112 hp gas engine takes the GAN GA+. For this engine the GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power. The U.S. 2.0 Ti-VCT has no exact row in the catalog yet.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
