Not sure which engine you have?

The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.

Ford Fiesta V/VI tune: what changes

The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Ford Fiesta V/VI special

Ford Fiesta Mk5 tune: the 2001–2008 import, matched by engine

The 2001–2008 Fiesta was never sold new in the U.S.; Ford brought the nameplate back for the 2011 model year. U.S. references call it the European Fiesta Mk5, other sources label it Mk6, and on a European-market car the engine matters more than that number. Most sources call it the Mk5, with the Mk5.5 facelift of October 2005; the 2008 successor is the Mk7. Fiesta Mk6 tune searches mean the same car: a five-door from November 2001 and a three-door from June 2002.

Engines of the 2002–2008 Fiesta and the GAN performance chip for each

The gas engines are the 1.25 Duratec with 70 hp, the 1.3 with 60 and 70 hp, the 1.4 with 80 hp and the 1.6 with 103 hp, plus the Fiesta ST with a 2.0 Duratec HE of 150 hp from March 2005. None of these engines was a U.S.-market option for this generation, so the catalog figures are European specifications. The 1.3 with 60 hp, the 1.4 with 80 hp and the ST with 150 hp take the GAN GA+.

The 1.25 Duratec is listed as the 1.25i with 75 hp, and the GAN GA+ takes it to 84 hp. The diesels are the 1.4 TDCi with 68 hp from March 2002 and the 1.6 TDCi with 90 hp from March 2005. For the 1.4 TDCi, the performance chip is the GAN GT.

FAQ

Ford Fiesta V/VI tuning FAQ

European Fiesta 1.4 TDCi 68: what does the GAN GT add?

The catalog lists the 1.4 TDCi going from 68 hp to 88 hp with the GAN GT. Those are the rated figures for this engine type, not a dyno result from your car.

Fiesta ST 2.0 Duratec, 150 hp: can it take a performance chip?

Yes, the ST takes the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
