What makes the Ford Mondeo IV special
Ford Mondeo 4 tune: an import, not the U.S. Fusion
The Mondeo Mk4 was never sold new in the U.S.; the closest Ford was the Fusion, a different car with its own engines. The U.S. Fusion has its own pages in the catalog, so look for those if that is your car. The U.S. Fusion Sport of 2010 through 2012 used a 3.5 V6 rated at 263 hp, which no row on this page covers.
A diesel and a gas Mondeo Mk4 of similar output can take different modules, so a European-market Mondeo tune begins by splitting the range in two. The 2.0 TDCi with 140 hp is the one to know: it was the main diesel from 2007 to 2014. The 2.0 TDCi (140 hp) takes the GAN GT, and the naturally aspirated 2.3 Duratec (161 hp) takes the GAN GA+.
Every other Mondeo Mk4 engine and its GAN performance chip
The other diesels also take the GAN GT: the 1.8 TDCi at 125 hp, the 2.0 TDCi at 116, 131 and 163 hp, the 2.2 TDCi at 175 and 200 hp and the 1.6 TDCi at 116 hp. Turbo gas engines came in 2010: the 2.0 EcoBoost debuted that spring at 203 hp, and the December 2010 facelift added a 239 hp version plus the 1.6 EcoBoost at 160 hp. The 2.5T, a Volvo five-cylinder with 220 hp, stayed on until November 2010 and also takes the GAN GT. Two more naturally aspirated Duratecs go with the GAN GA+: the 1.6 Ti-VCT and the 2.0 with 145 hp.

The catalog puts the 2.2 TDCi 200 at 256 hp with the GAN GT. Those are the rated figures for this engine type, not a dyno result from your car.
Which GAN performance chip suits the turbocharged gas Mondeo Mk4?
The 1.6 EcoBoost (160 hp), the 2.0 EcoBoost (203 and 239 hp) and the 2.5T all take the GAN GT, which is rated at up to 30% more power.
Mondeo Duratec gas engines: do they get a performance chip?
Yes. The naturally aspirated Duratecs run on the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
