What makes the Hyundai Genesis special
Hyundai Genesis tune: three cars, one name
Three different cars hide behind one Genesis tuner search: the Genesis Coupe, the Hyundai Genesis sedan, and the Genesis brand, which became its own make in 2015. In the U.S. the Hyundai Genesis sedan was sold for the 2009 to 2016 model years, and the Genesis name became a separate brand for 2017. This page covers the two Hyundai models, and either one has to be matched by engine and year. The Genesis Coupe (BK) is a rear-wheel-drive coupe built since 2008, 136,597 worldwide, in four versions.
Engines: a 2.0 turbo at 214 hp up to August 2012 and 275 hp after, and a naturally aspirated 3.8 V6 at 303 hp, later 347 hp. That 3.8 V6 makes 361 Nm, later 400 Nm; the 275 hp version, which came with the 2012 facelift, has 373 Nm. Choose from a six-speed manual, a six-speed ZF automatic and, later, an eight-speed automatic.
The sedan and the other markets
Germany got the Hyundai Genesis sedan (DH) between September 2014 and March 2017. Its only engine was the 3.8 V6 GDI, 315 hp and 397 Nm, paired with four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. The catalog's 3.8 with 315 hp is this sedan.
Beyond Europe the catalog also has the first-generation Genesis sedan (BH) and other-market versions, including the U.S. cars Hyundai never sold in Europe. The U.S. sedans are naturally aspirated: a 3.8 V6 at 290, 333 or 311 hp, a 4.6 V8 at 375 or 385 hp on premium fuel, and a 5.0 V8 at 429 hp or 420 hp, and all but the 333 and 385 hp versions have a catalog row at the same hp. Pair the 2.0 turbo with the GAN GT and the V6 engines with the GAN GA+.

Genesis Coupe 2.0 turbo: 214 hp or 275 hp, which one is yours?
The 214 hp version was sold until August 2012, and the 275 hp version from August 2012 to September 2015. The catalog turbo, rated 250 hp and 373 Nm, matches neither European version, 214 hp or 275 hp, so its figures fit neither.
What does a Hyundai Genesis performance chip add to the sedan?
The sedan's 315 hp and 397 Nm go to 340 hp and 429 Nm with the GAN GA+. Up to 12% more power is the GAN GA+ rating, while the GAN GT for the 2.0 turbo is rated at up to 30%. Those are catalog figures for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is the Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 turbocharged?
No. The 3.8 V6 with 303 hp, later 347 hp, has no turbocharger.
Does this page cover the Genesis G70 and G80?
No. Genesis has been a separate brand since 2015, with the G70, G80 and GV70.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
