What makes the Isuzu D-Max special
Isuzu D-Max tune: first check the year
Isuzu has never sold the D-Max through U.S. dealers, so in the U.S. it is a rare import rather than a dealer-sold truck. Describe yours by its source-market year, body style and engine, because there are no official U.S. model years or trims. Your D-Max engine depends on the year. The first generation, sold in some markets as the Rodeo until 2012, had a 2.5 or a 3.0 turbodiesel. After the 2006 facelift the European range had a 136 hp 2.5 and a 163 hp 3.0, which is where an Isuzu D-Max performance chip starts.
The 2.5 of the 2003 to 2006 cars is listed in the catalog as the 2.5 Ddi ->2006, 78 hp and 176 Nm, and takes the GAN GA+; the 3.0 of those years has no row. The D-Max II, sold from June 2012, has a single engine: the 2.5 twin-turbo (163 hp, 400 Nm). All three engines take the GAN GT. A 164 hp 1.9 Ddi replaced the 2.5 in 2017, and the third generation, in Europe since 2020, also runs a 1.9.

What does the GAN GT add to the D-Max 2.5 twin-turbo (163 hp)?
The D-Max II 2.5 goes from 163 hp and 400 Nm to 197 hp and 484 Nm with the GAN GT. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
What about the 1.9 Ddi that arrived in 2017?
The 1.9 Ddi (164 hp, 360 Nm) in the facelifted D-Max II and the third generation has no row in the catalog.
Isuzu D-Max tuner or flash tune?
A flash tune changes the factory software itself, whereas the GAN module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and leaves that software untouched. The ECU software is never changed and the module comes off at any time, so any factory warranty on your truck is preserved.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
