Each engine gets its own performance chip: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per performance chip and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:
Kia Carnival tune: what changes
The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Kia Carnival special
Kia Carnival tune: the 2.9 CRDi and the gas V6s
The catalog's Carnival is mostly the European diesel, so the 2.9 CRDi comes first on this page. In the U.S., the Carnival name started with the 2022 model year, replacing the Kia Sedona. After that, the build date decides which Carnival version you have. From the 2002 facelift, the 2.9 CRDi made 144 hp and 310 Nm and replaced the 126 hp 2.9 TD.
The second generation, from summer 2006, got 185 hp and 343 Nm out of the same engine size. The catalog lists each 2.9 CRDi twice, as sensor1 and sensor2, with identical figures: the sensor type differs, not the calibration. On the GAN GT, the 144 hp engine (310 Nm) reaches 186 hp and 397 Nm.
Gas V6 engines and the last diesel
The gas side was the 2.5 V6: 165 hp before the 2002 facelift, 150 hp after it. The second generation added a 2.7 V6 rated at 189 hp. V6 engines take the GAN GA and GAN GA+, and diesels take the GAN GT and GAN GTL. The catalog lists the 2.7 V6 at 189 hp and 247 Nm. The U.S. Sedona's 3.3-liter V6 is rated at 276 hp, and the catalog's 3.3i row lists the same 276; the table figure is metric, so that is the row to compare.
The 3.5-liter V6 in the U.S. Carnival, rated at 290 hp for 2022–2024 and 287 hp from the 2025 model year, has no row in the catalog yet. After the 2010 facelift only the 2.2 CRDi with 421 Nm stayed in a few European markets, including Switzerland and Austria. Germany stopped sales in spring 2010. A 150 hp version joined it in 2011. On the GAN GA+, the 150 hp 2.5 V6 with 224 Nm reaches 168 hp and 251 Nm.
Kia Carnival tuning FAQ
2.9 CRDi, 144 hp or 185 hp: which one is mine?
Check the build date: the 144 hp engine ran from 2002 to mid-2006, the 185 hp engine from mid-2006 on.
Kia Carnival tune: what does the 185 hp 2.9 CRDi gain?
The 185 hp engine, 343 Nm, reaches 237 hp and 437 Nm on the GAN GT. Diesels take the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power, and the gas V6 engines take the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%. Those are stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. The U.S. Carnival's V6 is naturally aspirated, so the GAN GA+ is the module for it.
Is the Kia Sedona the same van as the Carnival?
Yes. Some markets sell the same van as the Sedona, and in Germany the 2006 generation is the Carnival III. Some markets also got a 170 hp version of the 2.9 CRDi. That 170 hp 2.9 CRDi is not in the catalog.
Is the current Carnival in the catalog?
Kia does not list the third generation of 2014–2021 or the fourth generation from 2020 in Germany at present. The Carnival in this catalog is the van built from 1999 to 2011. The Carnival Hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter turbo with an electric motor. It is not a conventional turbo engine and has no row in the catalog.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
