Which hp figure belongs to your CX-7: 260, 244 or 238? Mazda sold the CX-7 in the U.S. for model years 2007 to 2012 and then dropped it. The U.S. turbocharged 2.3 DISI, standard on every 2007–2009 CX-7 and the s-trim engine from 2010, is rated at 244 hp, so it is not the 260 hp European engine; the catalog has no 244 hp row, so confirm which 2.3 DISI row fits your engine code before you order. The European 2.3 DISI Turbo makes 260 hp. For a CX-7 performance chip on that European car, the gas engine is the turbocharged 2.3 with 260 hp and 380 Nm.
The catalog pairs it with the GAN GA+. The U.S. i trims use a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter rated at 161 hp; the catalog's 2.5i row lists 163, the metric figure for the same output, so that is the row to compare. The GAN GA+ takes the 2.3 DISI Turbo to 281 hp and 410 Nm, a gain of 21 hp. That row is for the European engine; a 244 hp U.S. engine needs its own row check first.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
