Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:
Mitsubishi ASX tune: what changes
The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Mitsubishi ASX special
Mitsubishi ASX tune: the U.S. Outlander Sport and the 1.8 DI-D
In the U.S., the ASX was sold as the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, so choose a tuner by engine, not by badge. Both U.S. engines, the 2.0-liter and the 2.4-liter, are naturally aspirated gasoline fours. The turbo diesel in the European range is the 1.8 DI-D+, which runs the 4N13, the first diesel to get MIVEC variable valve timing. Citroën C4 Aircross and Peugeot 4008 use the same 1.8 diesel.
Front-wheel drive came first on the 1.8 DI-D, then four-wheel drive. For a Mitsubishi ASX tuner on this engine, the GAN GT is the match, and the catalog starts at the 150 hp version with 300 Nm. A 116 hp version with the same 300 Nm was sold in the German market only from January to October 2011, and the GAN GT covers it too.
Which ASX engines the catalog covers
The first-generation ASX reached Europe in June 2010 and was sold through the end of 2021. The 1.6 gas engine, at 117 hp and 154 Nm, ran until August 2019 in Germany; from September 2019 the range had a single engine, the 2.0 at 150 hp. ClearTec on the 1.6 means a stop-start, economy-minded setup rather than a different engine. Both gas engines take the GAN GA+, and the 2.0 is naturally aspirated.
The diesels take the GAN GT: the 1.8 DI-D until mid-2015, and the 2.2 DI-D at 150 hp and 360 Nm from October 2013. The 2.2 came only with four-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic. The 114 hp 1.6 DI-D, sold from 2015 to 2017, has no ASX row; the same engine is listed as the 1.6 HDi FAP 115 of the Peugeot 4008. The ASX sold since 2023 is a rebadged Renault Captur with Renault engines, and the catalog has no rows for them.
Mitsubishi ASX tuning FAQ
How much extra power does the 1.8 DI-D ASX make with the GAN GT?
The GAN GT takes the 150 hp version from 150 hp and 300 Nm to 193 hp and 385 Nm. Diesels get the GAN GT at up to 30% more power; the gas 1.6 and 2.0 get the GAN GA+ at up to 12%. A naturally aspirated engine gains less than a turbo, so expect a modest bump on the U.S. Outlander Sport. Those are rated gains for the engine type, not dyno results from your car.
Where is the ASX 2.2 DI-D with 360 Nm in the catalog?
Look for the 2.2 DI-D 4WD at 150 hp and 360 Nm, the four-wheel-drive automatic built from October 2013.
Which GAN performance chip fits the 1.6 and 2.0 gas engines, and the U.S. Outlander Sport?
In the catalog, the 1.6 at 117 hp and the 2.0 at 150 hp both take the GAN GA+. The U.S. 2.0-liter is rated at 148 hp, so compare that with the 2.0i row. The 2.4-liter at 168 hp has no row in the catalog yet.
What should I check on an ASX 1.8 DI-D before tuning?
On a 1.8 DI-D built before November 2012, the turbocharger is a known weak spot. A performance chip does not fix a worn part, so have the turbo checked before you fit it.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
