Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:
Mitsubishi Mirage tune: what changes
More power and torque with no ECU flash and no new parts – the module only adjusts the engine sensor signals. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Mitsubishi Mirage special
Mitsubishi Mirage tune: the U.S. hatchback and the Space Star behind it
Mitsubishi sold the Mirage in the U.S. from the 2014 model year as a hatchback, and the Mirage G4 sedan joined it for 2017. Europe has known the current Thai-built Mirage as the Space Star since February 2013; it never carried the Mirage name there. You will see the Mirage name in the United States, Canada, Australia and South-East Asia. Driving in Europe? Look for your tuner under the Space Star.
Paris showed the Space Star in 2012, with naturally aspirated three-cylinder gas engines. Engine options: a 1.0 MIVEC (71 hp, 88 Nm) and a 1.2 MIVEC (80 hp, 106 Nm). The 1.2 dropped to 71 hp and 102 Nm in September 2020 and stayed until September 2025. Earlier Mirage models came to Europe as the Colt; the Colt CJ0 (1996 to 2003) carried the Mirage name in Japan.
What the Mirage figures show
Outside Europe the 1.2 MIVEC is quoted at 78 hp and 100 Nm, against 80 hp and 106 Nm in Europe. Later U.S. cars list the 1.2 MIVEC at 78 hp, which matches the catalog row, while the first U.S. cars were rated lower at 74 hp. Rating methods explain the gap; the engine is the same. In Europe the 1.0 MIVEC makes 71 hp; Asian markets quote slightly less.
That makes the 78 hp version a non-European spec: no car sold in Europe ever had it. The Mirage G4 is the sedan, also sold as the Attrage. The catalog pairs the Mirage 1.2 with the GAN GA+.
Mitsubishi Mirage tuning FAQ
What does a Mirage 1.2 performance chip add on the 78 hp version?
The catalog lists 78 hp and 100 Nm, and the GAN GA+ takes the engine to 87 hp and 112 Nm. The engine is naturally aspirated, so the GAN GA+ applies, rated at up to 12% more power. Those are rated gains for the engine type, not dyno results from your car. These figures are for cars sold outside Europe.
Which page covers a European Space Star?
The Mitsubishi Space Star page, where the 1.0 and 1.2 carry the European outputs of 71 hp and 80 hp.
Does the Mirage come with a turbo?
No. The factory range has no turbo: the 1.0 and 1.2 MIVEC are naturally aspirated three-cylinder engines.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
