Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin tune: what changes
More power and torque with no ECU flash and no new parts – the module only adjusts the engine sensor signals. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin special
Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin tune: which engines are covered
Mitsubishi never sold the Pajero Pinin in the U.S., so the cars here are European-market versions. A Pajero Pinin tune can also mean off-road suspension and tires, but a performance chip works on the engine. Europe had three gas engines, all with four-wheel drive: the 1.8 GDI at 120 hp from 1999 to 2001, the 2.0 GDI at 129 hp and 190 Nm, and the 1.8 MPI at 114 hp and 160 Nm from 2001. The 120 hp 1.8 GDI has no row in the catalog.
Engine codes: 4G93 for the 1.8 MPI and 4G94 for the 2.0 GDI. The 1.8 MPI replaced the 1.8 GDI, and Europe never had a diesel. Both catalog engines take the GAN GA+.
Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin tuning FAQ
How do I choose a Pajero Pinin performance chip?
Pick by engine: the 2.0 GDI at 129 hp or the 1.8 at 114 hp. With the GAN GA+, the catalog's 2.0 GDI goes from 129 hp and 190 Nm to 144 hp and 213 Nm, rated at up to 12% more power. Those are rated gains for the engine type, not dyno results from your car. Like the 1.8 GDI, the 2.0 GDI uses direct injection and is not suitable for E10 fuel.
Is the Montero iO or Shogun Pinin the same car?
Yes. Shogun Pinin is another market name for the Pajero Pinin, and the same figures apply. In the U.S. it goes by its European name, Pajero Pinin; the Montero iO badge was used in some non-U.S. markets.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
