Peugeot 2008 tune: what changes

The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Peugeot 2008 special

Peugeot 2008 tune: mostly first-generation engines

Peugeot never officially sold the 2008 in the U.S., so it has no U.S. model years and is described as first or second generation. A 2020 or 2021 Peugeot 2008 is usually the second generation, but most engines in the catalog belong to the first. The first 2008 was built from 2013 to 2019 on the 208 platform, and the second was unveiled on June 19, 2019. Late November 2019 brought it to Germany, with the official launch on January 25, 2020.

The gas engines are three-cylinder PureTech turbos, and the diesel is the 1.5 BlueHDi with SCR and AdBlue. The electric e-2008 has no row in the catalog. So a Peugeot 2008 performance chip depends on the generation: check your car's year before you pick one.

First-generation engines

The 1.2 PureTech 110 is a turbo with 205 Nm, built from March 2015 to July 2018, and it takes the GAN GT. The 1.2 PureTech 130, with 230 Nm, came in the first 2008 with the 2016 facelift, in the top trim. The 1.6 VTi 120 made 160 Nm, ran from March 2013 to March 2015 and uses the GAN GA+. Diesels: the 1.4 HDi (68 hp, 160 Nm) and the 1.6 e-HDi (92 hp and 230 Nm, or 115 hp and 270 Nm).

The 1.6 BlueHDi made 99 to 100 hp and 254 Nm from March 2015 to April 2018, and there is a 120 hp version with 300 Nm. The GAN GT covers all the HDi, e-HDi and BlueHDi diesels. The 2016 facelift added the vertical grille with the lion.

FAQ

Peugeot 2008 tuning FAQ

What does a Peugeot 2008 1.2 PureTech 110 tune add?

A tuned 2008 with the 110 hp engine ends up at 143 hp and 267 Nm. The GAN GT line is rated at up to 30% more power, and those are rated gains for the engine type, not dyno results from your car.

2008 1.6 BlueHDi: 100 or 120 hp, which version?

Pick the 100 hp version if your car makes 99 to 100 hp and 254 Nm, and the 120 hp version if it has 300 Nm.

Does the catalog cover a 2008 from 2020 or 2021?

Apart from the 1.2 PureTech 130, which both generations share, the listed engines belong to the first generation. The 1.2 PureTech 100 has no 2008 row: the same engine is listed as the 1.2 PureTech 100 of the Peugeot 208. The 1.5 BlueHDi 100 has no 2008 row either; the same engine appears as the 1.5 BlueHDi 100 of the Peugeot 308. The more powerful 1.5 BlueHDi 130 is listed under the Peugeot 3008 as the 1.5 BlueHDi 130, not under the 2008. The 1.2 PureTech 155 and the 2024 mild hybrids have no rows in the catalog.

Plug-in performance chip or flash tuner on a Peugeot 2008?

A flash tuner replaces the factory software in the engine control unit; the GAN performance chip leaves it untouched. The ECU software is never changed and the module can be removed at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
