What makes the Peugeot RCZ special
Peugeot RCZ tune: THP 200 or the RCZ R
Peugeot never sold the RCZ in the U.S., so every RCZ here is a European-market car. Most buyers first ask whether an RCZ can be registered in the U.S.; settle that before you think about power. The RCZ has a single gas engine in three outputs: the 1.6 THP with 156 hp, with 200 hp, and with 270 hp in the RCZ R. All three share the 1.6 Prince engine that PSA developed with BMW. The THP 200 and the RCZ R get a different cylinder head and more boost than the THP 156. For RCZ tuning, your car's output picks the module, not the badge on the tailgate. The THP 156 makes 240 Nm from March 2010, and the THP 200 makes 275 Nm from June 2010.
The RCZ R arrived in fall 2013 with 270 hp and 330 Nm, a manual transmission only, and a production run of 3,054 cars. It tops out at 250 km/h, and 305 of the cars went to the United Kingdom. The catalog lists the RCZ R at 271 hp. Both the THP 200 and the RCZ R have variable valve timing on both camshafts and variable valve lift. All three engines take the GAN GT.
The diesel and the car
The diesel is the 2.0 HDi FAP at 163 hp, which made 320 Nm from 2010 and 340 Nm (1482 and 251 lb-ft) in a 2012 version. The RCZ is a 2+2 coupe built on the 308 platform and assembled by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria. The concept appeared in 2007, and the production car debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt show.
German dealers had it on April 24, 2010, and the facelift came in January 2013. Production ended in September 2015 after more than 67 thousand cars. The THP 156 came with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.

RCZ THP 200 performance chip: how much more power?
With the GAN GT, the 200 hp car reaches 234 hp and 355 Nm. The GAN GT line is rated at up to 30% more power. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
RCZ R tuner: how is the 270 hp car listed?
The RCZ R has its own row, separate from the THP 200: the 1.6 THP 270 with the GAN GT.
Is the RCZ 2.0 HDi covered too?
Yes. The GAN GT covers the 2.0 HDi with 163 hp and 340 Nm.
What should you check on a THP before installing a performance chip?
On THP 156 and THP 200 engines built before 2011, a weak hydraulic tensioner lets the timing chain stretch. You hear clicking and lose power, and the shop fix is a modified chain kit. On cars built before 2013, the high-pressure fuel pump can fail and cause jerking under acceleration. A performance chip doesn't replace a worn part, so have the chain kit and the fuel pump checked before you install it.
Plug-in performance chip or flash tune for an RCZ THP?
A flash tune writes new software into the engine control unit. A plug-in performance chip doesn't change anything there. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
