What makes the Renault Talisman special
Renault Talisman performance chip: Grandtour and sedan diesels
Renault never officially sold the Talisman in the U.S. There are no U.S. trim names or model years, so identify a Talisman by body style and engine. The Talisman came as a sedan and as the Grandtour wagon, and both bodies share the same engines. Start with the 1.6 dCi 160, which makes 160 hp and 380 Nm. Next in the lineup are the 1.6 dCi 130 at 320 Nm and the 1.5 dCi 110 at 260 Nm. The 1.6 dCi 130 has one turbocharger and the 1.6 dCi 160 has two; the 1.7 Blue dCi joined them in 2018. The 1.5 dCi 110, the 1.6 dCi 130 and the 1.6 dCi 160 were sold from 2015 to 2018.
The 1.6 dCi 160 left the lineup in 2018. An EDC automatic comes with the 1.6 dCi 160 and the 1.6 TCe 200. The 1.6 TCe 200 makes 200 hp and 260 Nm. A 1.6 TCe 150 with 150 hp rounds out the gas range. No rows exist for the 1.8 TCe 225 (2018 to 2020) or the 1.3 TCe 160 (from 2019). Over time, EGR clogging and injector deposits can cost a 1.6 dCi power, so have both serviced before you fit a performance chip.
Covered Talisman engines
The 1.5 dCi 110, the 1.6 dCi 130, the 1.6 dCi 160 and the 1.6 TCe 200 all take the GAN GT. From 2018 the diesels switched to the Blue dCi, in 1.7 and 2.0 versions. Talisman production ran from August 2015 to February 2022, with a facelift in 2020.
It is front-wheel drive. The wagon is called the Talisman Grandtour, and versions are named by engine, such as 1.6 dCi.

Talisman 1.6 dCi 160 performance chip: how much torque does the GAN GT add?
The 1.6 dCi 160 is rated at 160 hp and 380 Nm; with the GAN GT it reaches 206 hp and 481 Nm. Expect up to 30% more power from the GAN GT on a turbo diesel. Those are stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is the Talisman 1.6 TCe 200 gas engine covered?
Yes. The 1.6 TCe 200, at 200 hp and 260 Nm, takes the GAN GT.
Do the Talisman Grandtour and the sedan use the same performance chip?
Renault lists one engine range for the sedan and the Grandtour, so the engine picks the module, not the body.
What about the Blue dCi of 2018 to 2022?
The 1.7 Blue dCi 150 has no row under the Talisman; look for it as the 1.7 dCi of the Nissan X-Trail III. The 2.0 Blue dCi 160 and 200 are not in the catalog.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
