What makes the Suzuki Jimny special
Suzuki Jimny: a 1.5 can be two different engines
A Suzuki Jimny tune starts with the badge, because a 1.5 can mean two engines with nothing in common. Suzuki sold the Jimny-based Samurai in the U.S., but the newer Jimny generations were never officially sold here. The 1.5 DDiS is a Renault K9K diesel with 65 hp from April 2004 and 86 hp from December 2005, built by Santana in Spain as the JB53. The gas 1.5 is the K15B in the Jimny IV, a naturally aspirated engine rated at 102 hp and 130 Nm.
Europe got it from October 2018 as a passenger car, which ran until 2020, and later as a two-seat van. Only the 86 hp diesel has an intercooler; the 65 hp version doesn't. They need different performance chips: the DDiS takes the GAN GT, the K15B the GAN GA+.
The 1.3 changed three times
Three versions of the naturally aspirated 1.3 exist. The G13BB, with 80 hp and 104 Nm, was built from October 1998 to December 2000. The M13A (80 hp, 110 Nm) followed from January 2001 to May 2005, and the M13A VVT with 85 to 86 hp took over in June 2005. A rear-wheel-drive version, with a five-speed manual only, was sold just from 1998 to 2000.
The catalog puts the 1.3 at 80 hp and the 1.3 at 85 hp on the GAN GA+. The U.S. Samurai ran a 1.3-liter four-cylinder, with throttle-body fuel injection added in its later years, and it has no row in the catalog yet.
Generations and names
JB33, JB43 and JB53 are the third-generation bodies, and the JB74 is the fourth generation. The Jimny IV offers one engine, the K15B, with ALLGRIP PRO four-wheel drive, three doors, and either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Jimny Sierra is Japan's name for the versions that are wider than a kei car and have a 1.3 or 1.5 liter engine. English-language sources just say Suzuki Jimny.

Jimny 1.5 DDiS tune: how much more power does the GAN GT give?
In the catalog, the 86 hp version (200 Nm) reaches 112 hp and 260 Nm with the GAN GT, and the 65 hp version (160 Nm) has its own row too. Treat these as the stated gains for this engine type, not dyno results from your car.
Which GAN module fits a Jimny 1.3 at 80, 82 or 85 hp?
As a naturally aspirated engine, the 1.3 takes the GAN GA+, which is rated at up to 12% more power. The catalog has rows for the 80 hp and 85 hp versions, so match on model year and the figures in your vehicle documents.
Does the module touch the automatic transmission or ALLGRIP PRO?
No, the module doesn't reprogram the transmission. On the Jimny III and IV the four-speed automatic is an option, while ALLGRIP PRO is simply Suzuki's name for the four-wheel drive system.
Jimny: GAN performance chip or a flash tune?
A flash rewrites the factory software, while the GAN performance chip sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
