What makes the Toyota Corolla Cross special
Corolla Cross tune: engine power or system power?
Toyota has sold the Corolla Cross in the U.S. since model year 2022, with the hybrid joining for 2023. The U.S. gas version is a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter at 169 hp, and the catalog has a 2.0 gas row at that same 169 hp. A common question: the catalog says 98 hp for the Corolla Cross Hybrid, yet Toyota quotes 140 hp. Which one is right? Both are. The 98 hp and 142 Nm come from the 1.8-liter gas engine, the 2ZR-FXE, while the 140 hp is the output of the whole hybrid system. The 2.0 Hybrid follows the same logic: its gas engine makes 152 hp and 190 Nm, and the system made 197 hp at launch.
The module therefore acts on the gas engine, and the catalog lists that engine's figures without the electric motor. You only need your car's system figure to find the right version. The GAN GA+ works with both engines. The U.S. hybrid is sold with all-wheel drive only and published at 196 hp of system output, so use the same rule there: the module acts on the gas engine, not on that total.
What the catalog covers, and what the U.S. gets
The catalog follows the European range, where the Corolla Cross is a hybrid only, built in Japan and launched in September 2022. The 2.0 Hybrid was the first version out. You can get it with front-wheel drive or with AWD-i, which adds an electric motor on the rear axle. Under it sits the base 1.8 Hybrid: front-wheel drive, an e-CVT and an electric motor of 95 hp and 163 Nm.

Start from the gas engine: the catalog uses 98 hp and 142 Nm for the 1.8 Hybrid. The 140 hp adds the electric motor's share to the engine's. Add the GAN GA+ and the catalog's gas-engine figures become 110 hp and 159 Nm. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power for this engine type, which is a rating and not a dyno result from your own car.
Does the 2.0 Hybrid's 197 hp or the AWD-i version change which row I pick?
No. Go by the gas engine, rated at 152 hp, even though the 2.0 Hybrid's system power was 197 hp at launch. With AWD-i or front-wheel drive, it is the same 152 hp gas engine.
