Each engine gets its own performance chip: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per performance chip and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.

Toyota Hiace tune: what changes
The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Toyota Hiace special
Toyota HiAce tuner: four 2.5 D-4D calibrations, one name
Toyota has never sold the HiAce new in the U.S., so the vans here are imports, mostly right-hand drive. One label, 2.5 D-4D, covers four calibrations: 88 and 102 hp until 2006, then 95 and 117 hp. Start with the build year. For any HiAce you plan to tune, find out whether it was built before or after the summer of 2006. Sold from November 2001, the 102 hp engine makes 260 Nm; the 88 hp version makes 192 Nm.
Stricter emissions rules and an intercooler arrived in the summer of 2006, and the choices became 95 hp with 230 Nm or 117 hp with 294 Nm. So a diesel van from 2001 to 2006 carries the 88 or 102 hp 2.5 D-4D, and a 2010 van carries the 117 hp one. The GAN GT fits all four 2.5 D-4D calibrations.
Where the van comes from
Europe's HiAce, the XH10 and XH20, ran from August 1995 to 2012 on the Granvia platform, which puts the engine and front wheels ahead of the driver. Exports stopped in 2012 because the van could not meet Euro 5, and the ProAce replaced it in 2013. The H200 and H300 are Asian vans rather than the European HiAce, and the catalog covers them along with the Japanese Grand HiAce.
A data sheet lists the later van at 95 or 117 hp and 230 or 294 Nm (170 or 217 lb-ft). Back in November 1989 the H100 launched with a 2.0-liter 1RZ gas engine or a 2.4-liter 2L-II diesel. The H100 is the version you'll most often meet here.
Toyota Hiace tuning FAQ
What does a GAN GT performance chip add to the HiAce 2.5 D-4D?
In the catalog the 102 hp calibration (260 Nm) goes to 133 hp and 337 Nm, and the 117 hp one (294 Nm) goes to 152 hp and 378 Nm. Turbo diesels like these are rated at up to 30% more power with the GAN GT. That is a rating for the engine type, not a dyno result from your own van.
HiAce D-4D: plug-and-play performance chip or flash tune?
A flash tune rewrites the factory software. The GAN module does not: it adjusts the sensor signals, and the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched. Before you add power either way, have the injection, cooling and transmission checked, since age brings risks that more power doesn't remove. On an imported H100, confirm the engine code, drivetrain and sensor layout first, since the van came with several engines, including a 3.0 turbo diesel.
What engine does a HiAce built after 2010 have?
From 2010 the range had just one engine, the 117 hp diesel.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
