What makes the Volvo C30 special
Volvo C30 T5 tune: the turbo five and the rest of the range
Every U.S. C30 was a T5 with the turbocharged 2.5L inline-five, so the diesels and Ford-based engines below are European. The T5 is the top of the C30 range: a 2.5 five-cylinder turbo with 220 hp until 2007 and 230 hp and 320 Nm after that. U.S. cars carry their own SAE rating: the T5 is rated at 227 hp, which is the 2.5 T5 row at 230. The T5 takes the GAN GT, and so do the diesels, from the 1.6 D with 109 hp up to the 2.4 D5 with 179 hp.
The Ford-based gasoline 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0, along with the Volvo 2.4, take the GAN GA+. R-Design is a trim, not an engine, so it doesn't change which module you need. The higher-output Polestar Limited Edition has no row of its own in the catalog yet.

Volvo C30 T5 performance chip: how much does the 230 hp engine gain?
On the C30 T5 230, the GAN GT takes you from 230 hp and 320 Nm to 293 hp and 409 Nm, and it's rated at up to 30% more power. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading from your car.
Do the D3, D4 and 1.6 D have rows too?
Yes. All three take the GAN GT, and so does the 2.0 D with 136 hp, a PSA engine. The D4 with 177 hp and 400 Nm goes to 227 hp and 505 Nm.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
