What makes the Volkswagen Arteon special
VW Arteon tune: engine by engine
The U.S. Arteon came with a turbocharged 2.0L TSI gasoline engine only, so the TDI rows on this page are European. The earlier U.S. cars are rated at 268 hp and model year 2022 and later at 300 hp, and neither figure has a row in the catalog yet. Early and later U.S. cars also differ in transmission, so go by model year. The Arteon (Typ 3H) sits on the same MQB platform as the Passat B8 and reached customers in June 2017. Don't look for a 1.5 TSI under the Arteon; that engine sits under the VW T-Roc 1.5 TSI.
The 2.0 TSI with 272 hp is also filed elsewhere, as the 2.0 TSI of the Å koda Superb III. For an Arteon 2.0 TDI performance chip, the diesels with 150, 190, 200 and 240 hp and the 2.0 TSI with 190 and 280 hp all pair with the GAN GT. No: Volkswagen unveiled the first Arteon in Geneva on March 6, 2017.
VW Arteon performance chip: what does the 2.0 TDI with 190 hp gain?
The Arteon diesel starts at 190 hp and 400 Nm; the GAN GT takes it to 225 hp and 505 Nm. Up to 30% more power is the GAN GT line's rating. It's the stated gain for this engine type, not a dyno reading from your car.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
