What makes the Audi A6 C7 special
Audi A6 C7 tune: which side of the October 2014 facelift is your car?
The first question for an Audi A6 C7 tune is the October 2014 facelift, because it splits the engine range; this page is about engine power, not body kits or styling. In the U.S. the C7 A6 came mainly with two gas engines, the 2.0T and the 3.0T, plus a 3.0 TDI diesel from the 2014 model year. The facelift changed almost the whole engine range of the Typ 4G, so a 2.0 TDI from before fall 2014 is not the same engine as one from after. At launch, Europe's base diesel was the EA189 2.0 TDI with 177 hp and 380 Nm; a 136 hp version joined below it in November 2011.
The facelift swapped it for the EA288 2.0 TDI ultra, with 190 hp and 400 Nm. On the V6 3.0 TDI, 204 and 245 hp became 218 and 272 hp, the BiTDI went from 313 to 320 hp, and a 326 hp Competition version was added. On the gas side, the 2.0 TFSI with 179 hp gave way to the 1.8 TFSI with 190 hp, and the 252 hp 2.0 TFSI came only after the facelift. The U.S. 2.0T was rated at 211 hp at first, 220 hp for 2014 and 2015 and 252 hp from 2016, and each figure has a row in the table.
Gas engines, body styles and codes
Late in 2010 the supercharged 3.0 TFSI made 299 hp, then 310 hp up to the facelift and 333 hp after it. The U.S. 3.0T is supercharged, not turbocharged; its 310 hp rating has a row in the table, while the later 333 hp version has no row in the catalog yet. With 204 hp, the 2.8 FSI is the naturally aspirated V6, and it takes the GAN GA+.
Audi built the sedan from December 2010, added the Avant in September 2011 and the allroad quattro in 2012. Sedans carry the codes 4G2 or 4GC, Avants 4G5 or 4GD and allroads 4GH or 4GJ; production ended in May 2018. On the U.S. 2.0T, have the PCV valve and oil separator checked before you add power, since they are tied to oil consumption.

What does an Audi A6 C7 performance chip give on the 2.0 TDI 177 and the 2.0 TDI ultra 190?
Two different engine families, and the GAN GT fits both. On the 2.0 TDI 177, output rises from 177 hp and 380 Nm to 210 hp and 481 Nm; on the 2.0 TDI ultra 190 it rises from 190 hp and 400 Nm to 225 hp and 505 Nm. These are stated gains for the engine types, not dyno readings from your car.
Does the multitronic transmission limit the European 3.0 TDI 204 of the A6 C7?
The European C7 3.0 TDI with 204 hp and 400 Nm has front-wheel drive and multitronic, whose strongest version was rated for 400 Nm. The module doesn't reprogram the transmission, so compare the tuned torque in the catalog with that limit.
Can the module still be fitted to a European 2.0 TDI after the EA189 emissions update?
The update covered the C7's 2.0 TDI 136 and 177 hp (EA189), and Volkswagen says rated power and the torque curve don't change with it. A GAN performance chip leaves the ECU software as it finds it, while a flash tune rewrites it.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
