What makes the Cupra Ateca special
Cupra Ateca tune: one engine, listed twice
Before 2023, the Cupra Ateca came with a single engine: the 2.0 TSI EA888 at 300 hp and 400 Nm, with four-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG. Cupra never sold the Ateca through U.S. dealers, so one here is an imported enthusiast SUV. It keeps its European name, with no U.S. trim or model-year naming, so match it by engine and hp. The catalog has two rows for it, one for cars built before November 2020 and one for cars built after, and both show the same GAN GT figures.
Check the engine code: DNUE up to the 2020 facelift, DNFC after it. A recall (campaign 10H7) covered some 2021 and 2022 cars, because a loose cover on top of the engine could touch the hot turbocharger. The 190 hp 2.0 TSI added in 2023 has no Cupra Ateca row of its own; the same engine is listed as the 2.0 TFSI of the SEAT Ateca. The 150 hp 1.5 TSI is covered under another model too, as the 1.5 TSI of the VW T-Roc.

Both versions climb from 300 hp and 400 Nm to 351 hp and 468 Nm. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno result for your car. GAN rates the GAN GT at up to 30% more power on turbo engines like this one.
Cupra Ateca plug-in module or flash tuner: what stays untouched?
A flash tuner rewrites the factory software. The GAN module is a separate plug-in unit that sits between the engine sensors and the ECU. The factory software stays untouched, and the module comes off in minutes without leaving electronic or mechanical traces.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
