GAN tuning module for Dodge

Dodge performance chip: more power, no ECU flash

The GAN module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Unlike a flash tuner, it doesn’t rewrite your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

FAQ

Dodge tuning FAQ

What does the GAN GT add to the Dodge Nitro 2.8 CRD diesel?

The 177 hp Nitro 2.8 CRD goes from 177 hp and 410 Nm to 227 hp and 517 Nm with the GAN GT, per the catalog. The 163 hp Caliber 2.2 CRD, sold in Europe from summer 2010, also takes the GAN GT. These are catalog gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

Does the Caliber 2.0 CRD take the same module as the Nitro?

No. The catalog matches the 140 hp Volkswagen 2.0 CRD with the GAN GA+, so go by your car's stock figure.

Dodge Charger tuner: which module covers the HEMI engines of a Charger or Challenger?

Naturally aspirated gasoline engines in the Challenger and Charger take the GAN GA+, with up to 12% more power. The catalog lists their power in SAE hp, so choose by engine and version, not by a European power figure. On a supercharged 6.2 Hellcat, a plug-in module is not a substitute for a full custom calibration.

Plug-in performance chip or flash tune on a Dodge?

A flash tune rewrites the factory software. The GAN module doesn't: it sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched, and the engine keeps its factory protections. Pull the module and no traces remain, because nothing was ever written to the ECU. The ECU software is never changed, so your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can come off at any time.

Does the GAN module affect my Dodge factory warranty?

No. The module doesn’t change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved. On top of that, GAN gives its own engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.

Plug-in performance chip or flash tuner: which should I choose?

A flash tuner rewrites the maps in your ECU, and the flash counter records it. The GAN module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.

About Dodge engines

Dodge engines: what to know before you tune

Dodge tuner: what Europe got and what the U.S. has

Dodge is a home-market brand in the U.S. The current lineup includes the Charger and Durango, and several models in this catalog ended earlier. Market comes first. In Europe the main Dodge was the Caliber, built from 2006 to 2011 with a 140 hp Volkswagen 2.0 CRD diesel. From 2006 to 2012, Germany registered 6,705 Calibers.

Its gasoline engines made 150, 156 and 170 hp, and from summer 2010 a Mercedes 2.2 CRD made 163 hp. Germany and Austria got the Caliber first, in June 2006. The Avenger followed in 2007, the Nitro in June 2007 and the Journey in June 2008. Dodge withdrew from Europe around 2011, after Fiat took control of Chrysler.

Diesel and gasoline in the European Dodges

The European Nitro paired a VM Motori 2.8 CRD (177 hp, 410 Nm) with a 3.7 V6 at 205 hp and a 4.0 V6 at 260 hp. The Journey ran from 2008 to 2010 with the 140 hp 2.0 CRD or a 170 hp 2.4 gasoline engine, and the Fiat Freemont took over in 2011. The Avenger was a sedan sold in Western Europe, with the same 2.0 CRD next to 2.0 and 2.4 gasoline engines. About 5,500 were sold there between 2007 and 2010.

Dodge sold the Viper SRT-10 of 2005 and 2006 at 506 hp, and Germany registered 188 of them. A turbo diesel like the Nitro's 2.8 CRD takes the GAN GT, with up to 30% more power.

American Dodges: single imports in Europe, SAE hp in the catalog

The U.S. 5.7 HEMI V8 is rated at up to 375 hp and the 6.4 HEMI at up to 485 hp, so find your engine by its hp figure in the table. The 3.6 Pentastar V6 is rated at up to 305 hp. The Caliber, Journey, Nitro and Avenger were the European Dodges. The Challenger and Charger are American muscle cars with Hellcat and SRT labels. In Europe, the Challenger, Charger, Durango and Ram arrive as single imports through AEC and KW Auto.

One Challenger carries two ratings: the Hellcat makes 727 hp by the European metric count and 717 hp by the American SAE rating. The American models appear in the catalog in SAE hp, and that isn't the same as European PS. The new Charger of 2024 came as the electric Daytona and, announced for Europe in 2026, as the Sixpack with a 3.0 six-cylinder. SRT is the factory performance badge. The naturally aspirated 6.1 and 6.4 HEMI go in SRT8 cars, and Hellcat means the supercharged 6.2 HEMI.

Which Dodge models are in the catalog

The catalog lists 14 models from Dodge. The most engines are listed for the RAM (34), Caravan (12) and Caliber (10). The biggest gain among the models is on the RAM: up to +65 hp.

Naturally aspirated Dodge engines

For 100 naturally aspirated engines from Dodge, there’s the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% better fuel economy in ECO mode. It’s plug-and-play: you can install it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
