Each engine gets its own performance chip: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per performance chip and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:
Ford Focus III tune: what changes
The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Ford Focus III special
Ford Focus ST tune: start with the ST and RS
Two versions lead the range: the ST, whose 2.0 EcoBoost makes 250 hp, and the RS, whose 2.3 EcoBoost makes 350 hp. The Focus sold new in the U.S. for model years 2012 through 2018. The U.S. ST was rated at 252 hp, close to the 250 hp catalog row, so choose the ST row.
The U.S. RS came for model years 2016 through 2018 with all-wheel drive, and its 350 hp matches the 2.3T row. The ST 2.0 EcoBoost debuted in June 2012, a European diesel ST with 185 hp followed in November 2014, and the RS was built from January 2016 until April 2018. Both gas engines are turbocharged, so they take the GAN GT, and so does the ST 2.0 TDCi.
Everyday Focus engines: EcoBoost, TDCi and Ti-VCT
The 1.0 EcoBoost began in March 2012 as a 101 hp and a 125 hp version, and a 140 hp version joined them in 2017. The U.S. 1.0 EcoBoost three-cylinder was rated at 123 hp, which is the 125 hp 1.0 EcoBoost row. In September 2014 the 1.5 EcoBoost with 150 and 182 hp replaced the 1.6 EcoBoost with the same outputs, and the GAN GT covers both.
The European diesels also run on the GAN GT: the 1.6 TDCi (95 to 116 hp), the 1.5 TDCi (95, 105 and 120 hp) that replaced it in September 2014, and the 2.0 TDCi. The naturally aspirated 1.6 Ti-VCT, offered at 85, 105 and 125 hp, goes with the GAN GA+.
Ford Focus III tuning FAQ
What does the GAN GT add to the Focus ST 2.0 EcoBoost?
With the GAN GT, the ST (250 hp, 360 Nm) goes to 317 hp and 457 Nm in the catalog. Those are the rated figures for this engine type, not a dyno result from your car.
Focus 1.6 EcoBoost recall: does a GAN module change anything?
The European recall affects the gas 1.6 EcoBoost (150 and 182 hp) built between July 2010 and September 2014, because weak coolant circulation can overheat the cylinder head. The facelift 1.5 EcoBoost is not part of it; your build date decides whether your car is included, so ask a Ford dealer. A flash tune rewrites the factory software in the Focus ECU, while the GAN module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals.
Focus 1.6 tune: can a naturally aspirated Focus take a GAN performance chip?
Yes. The 1.6 Ti-VCT, at 85, 105 and 125 hp, runs on the GAN GA+, which is rated at up to 12% more power. The U.S. 2.0 Ti-VCT at 160 hp is naturally aspirated too, and it matches the 2.0i row at that figure.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
