Each engine gets its own performance chip: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per performance chip and include the current discount.

Not sure which engine you have?

The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.

Ford Ranger tune: engines and generations

Ford Ranger tune: the U.S. Ranger is an EcoBoost gas truck

Ford brought the Ranger back to U.S. dealers with gas EcoBoost power, so the catalog's diesel rows don't describe a U.S.-market truck. The U.S. 2.3 EcoBoost four-cylinder is rated at 270 hp, and that engine has no row in the catalog yet. The 2.7 EcoBoost V6 on higher trims is rated at 315 hp and has no row either. Start with the generation: the catalog gives no years for the Ranger, and its diesel rows belong to the Ranger II of 2006 to 2011. Check your engine and its stock output before you pick a module.

The Ranger II came with the 2.5 TDCi at 143 hp and the 3.0 TDCi at 156 hp, and both take the GAN GT. The catalog's Ranger Raptor row is the twin-turbo 3.0 EcoBoost V6 at 292 hp, sold in Europe since November 2022, and it takes the GAN GT too. The U.S.-market Raptor has its own hp rating, so don't assume the catalog's Raptor row is yours. The engine decides the match, not the trim, whether your truck is an XL, XLT, Lariat or Tremor. Larger tires, lift kits and off-road gear cut gas mileage, so judge any fuel savings on a truck with stock tires.

FAQ

Ford Ranger tuning FAQ

What does the GAN GT add to the Ranger II 2.5 TDCi?

From 143 hp and 330 Nm, the Ranger II 2.5 TDCi reaches 185 hp and 421 Nm with the GAN GT. Those are catalog figures for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your Ranger.

Ranger Raptor tune: does the 3.0 EcoBoost take the same GAN module?

Yes. The 292 hp Raptor has a turbocharged gas engine, has its own row, and takes the GAN GT.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
