What makes the Honda Civic X special
Honda Civic 10th gen tune: the 1.5T and its oil
Honda sold the tenth-generation Civic in the U.S. for model years 2016 through 2021, as a sedan, coupe and hatchback. The U.S. 1.5 turbo in the EX, EX-T, EX-L and Touring is rated at 174 hp, so if your car makes 174 hp, use the 174 hp row in the table. The 2.0 i-VTEC in the LX and the sedan and coupe Sport makes 158 hp without a turbo, and its 158 hp row takes the GAN GA+. The 1.5 VTEC Turbo of the European Civic X hatchback (FK7) makes 182 hp and 240 Nm with the manual transmission, or 220 Nm with the CVT. A Civic FK7 with the GAN GT adds 52 hp and 72 Nm on this engine.
Check the oil first: on short trips, gas can dilute the engine oil of the 1.5 VTEC Turbo. Honda calls such cases rare, especially outside severe cold. On a U.S. 1.5 turbo, fuel in the oil and a rising oil level are known service topics in cold weather, so check the dipstick. A performance chip does not cure oil dilution, so check the oil level and the service history before any power upgrade.
The European diesel and the rest of the Civic X range
The European 1.6 i-DTEC (120 hp, 300 Nm) was built in 2018 and 2019 for the hatchback and sedan; the GAN GT adds 35 hp and 87 Nm. The 1.0 VTEC Turbo at 126 or 129 hp and the Type R at 320 hp belong to the Civic X as well. The catalog has no row for the 1.0 VTEC Turbo or the Type R engine.
The U.S. Civic Si, a 1.5 turbo at 205 hp, has no row in the catalog yet either. In Europe the Civic X is the FK7 hatchback and the FC sedan.

On a Civic 1.5 turbo, the GAN module adjusts the engine sensor signals and leaves the factory software untouched, and the engine's factory protections stay active.
Civic 1.5 VTEC Turbo, 182 hp: what does the GAN GT add?
The engine starts at 182 hp and 240 Nm and reaches 234 hp and 312 Nm with the GAN GT. This is a turbo gas engine, the type the GAN GT is rated for at up to 30% more power; the figures are rated gains, not a dyno result from your car.
Honda Civic performance chip or flash tune: what is the difference?
A flash tune rewrites the factory software in the engine control unit (ECU), while the GAN module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
