What makes the Jeep Liberty special
Jeep Liberty tuner: the Cherokee under its American name
Liberty is the name U.S. buyers know for the Jeep Cherokee KJ and KK, sold new through the 2012 model year. By European dates, the Cherokee KJ ran from 2001 to 2008 and the KK from 2008 to 2012, and both wore the Liberty name in North America. Europe never used the Liberty name; the same vehicles were sold there as the Cherokee. For the Liberty, that leaves two gas engines, a 2.4 and a 3.7 V6. Both take the GAN GA+.
On the KK, the 3.7 V6 was the sole engine offered, so that is the one to tune. The 2.4 four-cylinder ended after the 2005 model year, so it applies only to early KJ vehicles. The U.S. 3.7 V6 is rated at 210 hp, and in the catalog it is the Liberty's 3.7i row. The diesels, the 2.5 and 2.8 CRD, are on the Cherokee page.

What does a Jeep Liberty performance chip like the GAN GA+ add on the 3.7 V6?
The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power on both gas engines, the 3.7 V6 and the 2.4. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno result from your vehicle.
Does the Liberty KJ have a diesel to tune?
The American Liberty had a 2.8 CRD only in 2005 and 2006, while the European Cherokee KJ and KK carried VM Motori diesels. Those European diesels are on the Cherokee page.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
