What makes the Opel Astra K special
Opel Astra K tune: two closely related diesels
Opel never sold the Astra K new in the U.S., so the cars here are European-market Astras. It also has no U.S. trim lineup or model-year designations, so match your car by engine and hp rather than by model year. For an Opel Astra K tune, the choice usually comes down to two similar diesels: the 1.6 CDTI at 110 hp or the one at 136 hp. Both are turbodiesels from the same engine family, rated at 300 and 320 Nm (221 and 236 lb-ft), and both take the GAN GT.
The 95 hp version of the 1.6 CDTI, built until June 2018, is covered too. The 200 hp 1.6 Turbo also takes the GAN GT, and the catalog lists it at 280 Nm. On the naturally aspirated side, the 1.4 with 100 hp and 130 Nm takes the GAN GA+.
Engines this catalog does not list
You won't find the 1.0 Turbo at 105 hp or the 1.4 Turbo at 125 and 150 hp in the catalog. Those are two of the most common gas versions in this generation. Nearly all gas Astra K engines use direct injection; only the naturally aspirated 1.4 has port injection.
Model years and the facelift
In Europe the Astra K was unveiled at the IAA show in September 2015, and hatchback and Sports Tourer deliveries began that October. The August 2019 facelift dropped the 1.6 CDTI and the earlier turbo engines.

How much does the Astra K 1.6 CDTI at 136 hp gain?
The catalog shows this diesel going from 136 hp and 320 Nm to 176 hp and 409 Nm with the GAN GT. The 110 hp version picks up 33 hp. On a turbocharged engine like this, the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. Those are the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading from your car.
Does the catalog include the Astra K 1.0 Turbo and 1.4 Turbo?
No. For this generation it covers the naturally aspirated 1.4, the 1.6 CDTI at 95, 105, 110 and 136 hp, and the 1.6 Turbo at 200 hp.
What does a GAN performance chip add to the Astra K 1.4 at 100 hp?
This engine has no turbocharger, so the GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power. In the catalog that works out to 12 hp. Because the Astra K was never officially sold in the U.S., confirm your engine code and hp before you choose a tuner.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
