What makes the Volkswagen Polo VI special

VW Polo Mk6 tune (2017 on): which Polo VI engines are covered

VW of America never sold the Polo VI, so its engines here are European-market units. Because it's a European-market car, confirm the engine code and ECU before you choose a tuner. VW unveiled the Polo VI (Typ AW) on June 16, 2017, began building it in Pamplona in September 2017 and facelifted it in April 2021.

The three-cylinder 1.0 MPI came at 65 and 75 hp, plus 80 hp from July 2020. All three are in the catalog and take the GAN GA+. The 1.0 TSI at 95 or 110 hp has no row in the catalog.

The GTI and the diesel

For a Polo GTI performance chip, the GAN GT fits the GTI at 200 hp and 320 Nm and the 1.6 TDI at 80 and 95 hp. VW built the 1.6 TDI from December 2017 to August 2020, and the range had no diesels after that. You'll also see this generation called the Polo Mk6 or Polo 6.

The 1.5 TSI at 150 hp has no separate Polo VI entry; the same engine is listed as the 1.5 TSI of the VW T-Roc. The catalog doesn't include the facelift GTI at 207 hp.

What does a Polo 1.0 75 performance chip add on the naturally aspirated engine?

The naturally aspirated 1.0 at 75 hp and 95 Nm reaches 84 hp and 106 Nm with the GAN GA+. It's rated at up to 12% more power, and those are the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading from your car.

What does the GAN GT add to the Polo VI GTI?

The GAN GT takes the GTI from 200 hp and 320 Nm to 242 hp and 387 Nm.

What limits torque on a Polo VI with the 7-speed DSG?

The 7-speed dry-clutch DSG (DQ200), rated at 250 Nm, can come with the 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI. The module doesn't reprogram the transmission.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
