Each engine gets its own performance chip: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per performance chip and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.

BMW 5 Series G30 tune: what changes
The module plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. It never rewrites your ECU software: your factory warranty is preserved, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the BMW 5 Series G30 special
BMW 540i tune: one B58, several power figures
The U.S. 540i and 540i xDrive use the same 3.0-liter six, rated at 335 hp throughout, so pick the 340 hp or 333 hp 540i row by build date. The 540i G30 has a single 3.0-liter B58 six-cylinder, listed at 340 hp before the facelift and 333 hp after it, with 450 Nm both times. Facelifted cars add a 48-volt on-board system. Shown in October 2016 and facelifted in July 2020, the G30 is the sedan and the G31 the Touring. That is why the build date decides which 540i a GAN performance chip is matched to, and the 530d works the same way.
The 530d went from a single turbo (265 hp, 620 Nm) to twin turbos (286 hp, 650 Nm). Power on the N63 twin-turbo V8 in the M550i xDrive started at 462 hp and later went to 530 hp. U.S. M550i xDrive cars were rated at 456 hp early and 523 hp later, which are the 462 hp and 530 hp rows. The U.S. 530i is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four rated at 248 hp, which is the 530i row in the table.
GAN GT gains on the 540i
On the 340 hp 540i, the GAN GT delivers 416 hp and 550 Nm; on the 333 hp car it delivers 390 hp. The gains are stated for the engine type, not measured on your car.
BMW 5 Series G30 tuning FAQ
Is my BMW 540i G30 a 340 hp or a 333 hp car?
A car built before July 2020 makes 340 hp; after the facelift it makes 333 hp. Both take the GAN GT and start from the same 450 Nm of stock torque. A U.S. 540i lists one rating, 335 hp, for the whole generation, so pick the 540i row by build date.
Which GAN module fits the European BMW 520d G30?
The 520d has the B47 with 190 hp and 400 Nm, and the GAN GT is its module. Ahead of the facelift, the 520d got its 48-volt mild hybrid in November 2019. On the U.S. 530i, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four, the GAN GT is the match as well.
BMW 530d G30: GAN performance chip or flash tune?
A flash tune replaces the factory software in the engine control unit; a GAN performance chip leaves it as it is. The ECU software is never changed and you can remove the module at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
