Chery tuning FAQ
Chery Tiggo 7 tuner: is the 1.5 turbo the same engine in the Tiggo 4, 5, 7 and 8?
The Italian Tiggo 5, 7 and 8 all use the 1.5 turbo Acteco, rated 150, 156 and 154 hp, and the Tiggo 4-based DR 5.0 has had it since late 2020. It's a turbo gasoline engine, so the GAN GT is the module. On the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 it lifts 147 hp and 210 Nm to 190 hp and 271 Nm. Those are the catalog gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a module for the naturally aspirated Tiggo 2 1.5 or Tiggo 3 1.6?
Yes, the GAN GA+ fits both the Tiggo 2 1.5 (106 hp) and the Tiggo 3 1.6 (126 hp). The 1.5 goes to 119 hp and 151 Nm, and the 1.6 to 141 hp and 179 Nm. Expect no more than the GAN GA+ rating of up to 12% more power.
Are the DR, EVO, Sportequipe and Ebro cars running Chery engines?
Italy's DR, EVO and Sportequipe cars are Chery models under another badge, and Spain's Ebro S400, S700 and S800 sit on Chery platforms. The Ebro S700 has used the 1.6T since December 2024, and the S400 is a hybrid at 211 hp.
Plug-in performance chip or flash tune on a Chery: what stays untouched?
A flash tune rewrites the control unit's software. The GAN module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals instead. The factory software stays untouched, and the module leaves no traces when you remove it.
Does the GAN module affect my Chery factory warranty?
No. The module doesn’t change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your factory warranty is preserved. On top of that, GAN gives its own engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.

A flash tuner rewrites the maps in your ECU, and the flash counter records it. The GAN module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.

Chery performance chip: the engine under another badge
Chery has never sold new cars through a U.S. dealer network. There are no official U.S. model names or trims for Chery, so match any Chery you come across by its engine and hp. Chery cars have rolled on European roads since November 2007, often under another badge, so a Chery tune starts with the engine, not the name on the grille. Chery imported and assembled cars in Italy with DR Motor from November 2007. DR1 to DR7, EVO and Sportequipe are Chery cars with a different badge.
Chery's own direct entry into Europe came on June 30, 2025, in Poland, with the gasoline and plug-in hybrid Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8. Greece, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary came next. Summer 2025 brought the Tiggo 8 to further European markets. Omoda and Jaecoo have been separate European Chery brands since 2024, and neither is in the GAN catalog.
One gasoline family: Acteco
Acteco, developed with the Austrian company AVL, is the Chery family of gasoline engines. Naturally aspirated Actecos come as a 1.5, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0, and in the Italian DR cars they put out 106 to 139 hp. Turbo versions: the 1.5 turbo makes 150 to 158 hp depending on the car, and the 1.6T, the 290T, makes 200 hp.
230T and 290T are trade indices for the turbo engines. TGDI means a gasoline turbo with direct injection. Plus, Pro and Pro Max name generations and versions, not engines.

Italy's DR 5 is the first Tiggo (T11): sold from November 16, 2007 until June 2022, with more than twelve thousand built. Its engines started with a 1.6 at 109 hp, then added 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 gasoline versions at 118, 132 and 139 hp, and a 1.9 Multijet diesel at 120 hp until 2011. The DR EVO carried a 1.6 at 126 hp, as gasoline or bi-fuel LPG or methane. The DR 3 (the Tiggo 2) had a naturally aspirated 1.5 at 106 hp.
The DR 5.0 (Tiggo 4 and 5x) offers a naturally aspirated 1.5 Acteco at 116 hp and, from late 2020, a 1.5 turbo at 154 hp. The DR 6 (Tiggo 5) has a 1.5 turbo at 150 hp. The Tiggo 7 became the DR F35 and then the DR 6.0, and the Tiggo 8 the DR 7.0. All launched with a 1.5 turbo at 154 to 156 hp. Turbo engines such as the 1.5 turbo take the GAN GT, with up to 30% more power. Naturally aspirated ones take the GAN GA+, with up to 12%.
