Performance Chip Tuning Lada 4X4
Up to 12% more power for your Lada 4X4
The Lada 4X4: 2 generations and 6 engines in our catalog. For 6 naturally aspirated engines, go with the GAN GA or GAN GA+: the GAN GA+ adds +10 to +15 hp (GAN GA+ from 189 EUR).
Which Lada 4X4 do you have?
Start with the model year and generation. Then pick your engine by displacement and horsepower – you’ll find both in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents.

Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone isn’t enough: in this generation, the same engine came with different horsepower ratings, each with its own calibration. Check the horsepower in your owner’s manual or vehicle documents and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:

More power and torque, with no ECU flash and no new parts. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

Lada 4X4 tune: engines and generations
Lada 4x4 tuner: one engine, many names
Lada never sold the Niva new in the U.S., so a Niva here is a used, gray-market import. U.S. shoppers know it as the Lada Niva or the Lada 4x4. A Lada Niva performance chip is a short story: one main gas engine, many names. In Germany and Austria it is also the Lada Taiga, and in Italy the Job. Today the same model is sold as the Lada 4x4 or the Niva Legend.
Factory codes 2121, 21213 and 21214 also point to it; they help when you read an ad or a parts list. So a Taiga takes the same engine and the same module as a Lada 4x4. The engine is the 1.7i from the VAZ-21214 family (1690 cc, eight valves, multi-point injection). Output is 83 hp at 5000 rpm and 129 Nm at 4000 rpm, sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a transfer case.
Why the GAN GA+ suits the Niva
The 1.7i is naturally aspirated, so a Niva 1.7 gets the GAN GA+, and the main version makes 83 hp. The module is for the fuel-injected 1.7i; carbureted Nivas are a different case. The catalog also lists 1.7i versions at 80 and 81 hp, so check the output in your vehicle documents before you choose.
In Germany, Euro 5 versions of the 1.7i at 83 hp were sold until the late 2010s. The Chevrolet Niva (the Niva Travel from 2021) is another model with other engines, and it never had an official EU launch. The gain is modest in absolute terms, like on any naturally aspirated engine.
Lada 4X4 tuning FAQ
How much does a Lada Niva performance chip add to the 1.7i?
The 83 hp 1.7i goes to 93 hp, and its torque from 129 Nm to 144 Nm, with the GAN GA+. Up to 12% more power is the GAN GA+ rating, and that is the ceiling for a naturally aspirated engine. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno result from your vehicle.
Do a Niva, a Taiga and a Lada 4x4 share an engine?
Yes. Niva, Taiga, Job, Lada 4x4 and Niva Legend are all names for one model. Look up the 1.7i with 83 hp for any of them.
Does the module change how the transfer case or the four-wheel drive works?
The module leaves the transmission alone and works only on engine signals. It does not adjust the transfer case or the permanent four-wheel drive.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
