What makes the Volkswagen Passat B5 special
VW Passat B5 tune: the pump-injector 1.9 TDI and the U.S. engines
In the U.S. the Passat B5 came mainly with the 1.8T or the 2.8 V6, not the full European range, so the pump-injector 1.9 TDI below is a European engine. The facelifted pump-injector 1.9 TDI at 130 hp makes 285 Nm, or 310 Nm with the six-speed manual. Every 1.9 TDI takes the GAN GA+, including the pump-injector 1.9 TDI at 101 hp, a turbodiesel.
B5 or B5.5: which engines belong to the facelift
The B5 (Typ 3B) was built from August 1996 to September 2000. For a Passat B5.5 tuner, the facelift (Typ 3BG, which VW calls the Passat GP) ran from October 2000 to February 2005. The facelift retired the 1.8 at 125 hp, and the 2.3 VR5 at 150 hp gave way to a 170 hp VR5 20V. The 2.0 at 130 hp and the 4.0 W8 at 275 hp arrived later, with W8 production running from 2001 to 2004.
The 1.8T at 150 hp is a turbo gas engine, and it was offered throughout. The U.S. 1.8T is rated at 150 hp, and at 170 hp on B5.5 cars; the catalog has a 1.8T row at each figure. The 2.8 V6 at 193 hp and the W8 are naturally aspirated and take the GAN GA+. The U.S. 2.8 V6 is rated at 190 hp, so the catalog's 193 hp row is the closest match.

Which GAN performance chip fits the Passat B5 1.8T?

What wears on the Passat B5's pump-injector 1.9 TDI?
