What makes the BMW 3 Series G20 special
BMW 330i tune: the G20 changed on one date
Until June 2022 the G20 330i made 258 hp, and from July 2022 it makes 245 hp, on the same B48 engine. Inside the 245 hp car is a B48 variant whose exhaust manifold is integrated into the cylinder head. Both U.S. versions of the 330i, rear-drive and xDrive, are rated at 255 hp, the U.S. figure for the 258 hp row, so that is the row for them whatever the drive. BMW codes the sedan G20 and the Touring G21, and the facelift came in May 2022.
The build date decides which version applies, so the GAN performance chip for a 330i is matched to it. Don't confuse the European 318i with the old three-cylinder: since March 2020 it has been the 2.0-liter B48 with 156 hp. Both diesels, the 318d at 150 hp and the 320d at 190 hp, are B47 engines with a 48-volt mild hybrid from 2020. The M340i, a 3.0-liter inline-six, has no row in the catalog yet.
What a BMW 330i performance chip adds
A GAN GT performance chip lifts the 258 hp version to 302 hp and the 245 hp version to 287 hp, with 468 Nm either way. Treat these as stated gains for the engine type, not dyno readings from your car.

Is the BMW 318i G20 the old three-cylinder engine?
The European 318i G20 is not the old three-cylinder; it carries the 2.0-liter B48B20 with 156 hp and 250 Nm from March 2020. Every gas 318i, 320i and 330i comes with the eight-speed automatic. The GAN module leaves the transmission software alone. American G20s are the 330i, the M340i and the 330e, so the 318i isn't one you'll find here.
BMW 330e G20: which engine figure does the module work with?
A plug-in hybrid, the 330e pairs a 184 hp gas engine with an electric motor, and the combined system makes 252 hp, or 292 hp in boost mode. The catalog goes by the gas engine, so start from 184 hp, not the system figure. The U.S. 330e quotes a combined system rating too, so that number isn't the combustion engine's hp.
BMW 330i tuner or flash tune: what stays untouched?
A flash tune swaps the factory software in the engine control unit. The GAN module instead sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. Your factory warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU flash tune without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
